Nintendo Wii Release Date
In any industry, competition among various companies is quite inevitable. In
order to thrive and survive in the cutthroat world of business it is
important to continually innovate and offer consumers something new and
exciting. This is all to apparent in the video gaming arena, where leading
companies such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft are continually pitting their
products to the delight of video gaming fanatics who are always on the
lookout of the best products. For some time, there have been some talks
about how Nintendo is no longer in the running and have outdone by Sony and
Microsoft. The popularity of Sony’s Playstation 2 and Microsoft’s Xbox has
been a slight blow to Nintendo who have been dominating the industry for
several decades.
However, Nintendo have recently proven that they are far from becoming just
a part history of video gaming. Early 2006, there have been reports that
Nintendo is developing a new video game console that is said to overthrow
Sony’s dominance in the industry. The product was first codenamed Nintendo
and was later changed to Nintendo Wii (pronounced as ‘we’), which certainly
have a nicer and much interesting ring to it. Since the rumored initial
development stages of the product, a lot of people were anticipating the
Nintendo Wii release date. It was largely attributed to the fact that
Nintendo have always been known to live up to the expectations of many by
providing family-friendly games with a twist. Predictably the rumor mill was
in frenzy, with varying speculations not only as to the Nintendo Wii release
date but the possible features of the products as well. However up until the
Nintendo Wii release date, the company has decidedly kept mum about the
specifics.
When Sony that it be releasing its latest product, the PS3 or Playstation 3
right along the Nintendo Wii release date, a lot of people were practically
agog with sheer excitement. The head on competition between the two
manufacturing giants further fueled the all to keen rivalry, much to the
delight of video game fanatics who are looking forward to try out the latest
innovations. It was then finally announced that the Nintendo Wii release
date was scheduled on the 19th of November, soon followed by Sony’s
Playstation 3 within the same month.
Predictably, people came in droves and the some even waited out in the cold,
waiting for the retail store to open. Online sites that offer preorder
options were overwhelmed by the number of people who are willing to pay
thrice the original amount juts to make sure they have try it firsthand or
give it away as gifts for the holiday season. Amazon decided to pull out
their preorder options just a short time span after posting it on their
website, and claimed to have underestimated the demand for the product. All
in all, it was a grand day for Nintendo who have effectively given Sony a
run for their money and reestablished their position as a market leader in
the video gaming industry.
