Boxing Lessons
Undeniably no one can walk with life so prettily, unscathed, unfazed, and
fearless. For the most of us must have gone through difficult stages that we
all have to endure. While most of us were able to hurdle the obstacles
successfully, some of us have to recover from the pains that they went
through. While some of us are able to up a wide smile, some are still
mending a wounded soul. Such is the lesson of life that each one of us has
to endure. As they say survival is the fittest.
Boxers since time immemorial have always been so aware that in order to
survive above the ring they have to put on their best guard, put their best
foot forward as they unleash their strength that they have nourished and
mastered over the years. Every inch of the way all the boxing lessons that
they have learned from the start has to be utilized to their full advantage,
lest their opponent will eat them alive at least figuratively.
Anyone who goes for a career in boxing that is also popularly known among
pundits as a sweet science, has to learn the best boxing lessons also only
from the best. How ironic it seems that this sweet science teaches boxing
lessons to pugilists to hurt their opponent so to speak. There is no better
way to put the opponent down and bring home the victor’s prizefight than to
constantly throw blows after blows until nothing is left from her or him.
Only then a boxer is declared a winner.
Perhaps those who do not understand or just refuse to understand boxing may
think that how could boxers, men and women alike, in their right frame of
mind could ever allow anyone to punch them to death or have the courage to
face a looming death inside the ring. What could be their motivation? What
boxing lessons are they learning that they don’t get enough the lessons that
life taught them to be?
We all know that most of the boxers have come from poor families. Perhaps
one of the things that drove them to learn all the boxing lessons that they
needed to undergo is to help their family live a comfortable life that they
were deprived of. Nevertheless some were successful in their quest while
others still have to find the best trainer to give them the best boxing
lessons that they surely need.
In another spectrum, more than anything else putting money and fame aside
this sport has taught us some of the greatest lessons in life whether we are
true blooded boxers or not. Courage, loyalty, honesty, self-disciple,
respect for oneself and others as well, compassion and justice are just some
of the lessons that are sometimes not taught in the four corners of the
classroom but can be learned in the halls of boxing.
