Boxing History Repeats Itself
Boxing history goes on to show that the well-prepared fighter will be the
one to go home with the belt. No matter how skillful one boxer may be, if he
takes his opponent for granted, he will still be vulnerable to losing. No
matter if he is the defending champion, a determined challenger has the
chance to knock him out.
As boxing history will prove, boxing greats have been put down on the canvas
by persistent, disciplined, and aggressive challengers. Disciplined boxers
will always have that edge to beat the other opponent. Working hard during
training will prepare one to exchange hard blows with the other. Never
slacking out on training sessions will ensure that one will be much prepared
for the main event.
Boxing history also has many highlights showing champions effectively
defending their titles for many fights. These are the boxing champions who
have still the fire burning inside of them. They still train like crazy and
continue on with more rigorous regimen to keep them fit and able to trade
damaging blows with challengers who may be as wanting for a championship
belt. They also continue to improve on their boxing techniques as well, to
unleash more effective blows against their opponent.
It has also been seen in boxing history, that the boxers who are hungrier to
get the title have the most chance to win a boxing bout. As the lyrics of
the famous Rocky movie soundtrack goes – it’s the ‘eye of the tiger’ –
meaning having the thirst for a win, the hunger for claiming the
championship belt and the persistent drive to be the best boxer in one’s era
– all fuels one’s goal to be the greatest boxer in the world.
The common errors of the past though should be a lesson that must be learned
by the newcomers of the sport. Boxers who have high potentials to become
great names in the boxing world must not commit the same mistakes as boxing
history has shown many times. A little dose of fame should not be allowed to
mislead the boxers that they are invincible. Rather it should be a
realization that any hungry newcomer – like they once were - are capable of
getting a win, if very determined to do so.
Indeed a lot can be learned from the records and stories of boxing history.
The amazing and exciting sport has shown glorious wins, unexpected losses,
interesting draws and entertaining knockouts. All were a product of the
training preparations and commitment by each boxer. When the time to clash
it out came, those who prepared more usually gets the win – unless the hands
of luck intervened as these do occasionally. And boxing history has been a
witness to both cases as such happens over and over again.
